XXV Diada de la Puntaire
OPEN LACE DAY EVENT IN ARENYS DE MAR:
DAYS 27th, 28th AND 29th. April
This year 2012, the ACP commemorates the 25th. jubilee of its foundation as Lace Guild, with especial activities, and in this occassion the city that will hold the lace day event will be Arenys de Mar, a Mediterranean city with a great lace tradition, located near Barcelona, 40 Km. Well connected by train and buses.
It is worth the visit to the Marès Lace Museum, which displays laces from different parts of Spain and other traditional laces from abroad.
The ACP is the organizer of The Diada, together with the Hall of the city. The shop,s open doors during this event and their shop windows are absolutely nice dressed up with their traditional laces: the Ret-fi or blonda d'Arenys.

International Lace Exhibition
Friday, April 27th, at 16 h.
In The Cultural Center Calisay
Sample of laces from different traditional lace locations:
Arenys, L'Arboç del Penedes, Camariñas, Peniche, Poland, Italy,
and others.
During the exhibition, there will be lace demonstrations of the different lace techniques, from Friday until Sunday afternoon.
Friday April 27 at 20 h.
Opening of the Event and tribute to the lacemaker
In Principal theatre
Inauguration of the XXV Diada de la Puntaire and tribute
to lace associations and lacemakers that have collaborated
and worked to recover the craft of lace.

Exhibition THE SWAN SONG OF THE CATALONIAN LACES
In Lace Mares Museum
Opening of the exhibition "The swan song of Catalonian laces"
Display of pieces made by the "Casa Castells", lace desginers
and workers of laces during 19nth, cent., for the Arenys de Mar Chapel of Sant Jordi
together with photographs and original designs.
Saturday April 28th., at 10 h.
2nd. CONFERENCE ON LACE CRAFT
In The Cultural Centre Calisay
Evaluation of the situation of the artisan lace craft:
the professional area , schools, spreading and internationalization of laces.
Saturday April 28th., at 21 h.
Show Lace Fashion with young designers
In Ateneu Arenyenc
Lace fashion proposals by young designers.
The works will be made by artisan lacemakers
from Arenys de Mar.

In Riera Arenys de Mar
Great open air lace day event organized by the ACP-Associació Catalana de Puntaires and the Hall of the city of Arenys de Mar.
Lace demonstration, up to 3.000 lacemakers and more than 30 vendors.
